#GirlvsCancer Launches New Collection for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
updated on Oct 1, 2019
The latest collection of #TitTees feature fine line female form illustrations depicting women’s bodies affected by breast cancer
Founded by Lauren Mahon in 2017, #GirlvsCancer was born following Lauren’s own breast cancer diagnosis. The aim was to share the story of her treatment in an accessible way, to tackle the taboo and create a better understanding of the challenges young adults with a cancer diagnosis can face.
Today, a new collection has launched, marking the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. GirlvsCancer proudly donates 25% of all sales (plus all the money raised from GirlvsCancer events) to their partner charities, CoppaFeel!, Trekstock, Future Dreams and Look Good Feel Better.
The latest collection, designed by artist and illustrator Kit Agar, features exclusive fine line illustrations of the female form, representing bodies affected by breast cancer. In the announcement post on Instagram, Lauren wrote:
“Whether You’ve Kept Both Of Your Breasts.
Or Are Part Of The Mastectomy Crew.
You Can Wear One Of Four Limited Edition Styles.
Which Are Printed Onto Organic Tees & Hoodies.
To Empower & Educate. Or Just Look F**king Cool.”
Also launching today is a bonus #TitTee whereby GirlvsCancer has joined forces with burger restaurant Patty and Bun. Designed by @bbesdoingbits with Patty and Bun, the limited edition #TitTee will see 100% of profits donated to the GirlvsCancer partner charities. As part of the campaign, Patty and Bun have launched their new special, named ‘The Rack’ with £2 from each burger also being donated to the partner charities.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a worldwide annual campaign, involving thousands of charities and organisations, which highlights the importance of breast awareness, education and research. There are many ways you can get involved, from supporting charities, sharing experiences and joining the conversation.
Many of us can also forget to check our boobs regularly, whether that’s simply life getting in the way, or us feeling worried about what we might find. CoppaFeel! offer regular text reminders, as well as how-to guides and e-news.
