What is Happiful?

Happiful is an independent monthly magazine devoted to mental health and wellbeing. Every issue brings together evidence-informed advice, inspiring real-life stories, expert insight, and practical ideas to help readers feel informed, supported, and connected.

Alongside our print magazine, we publish new online articles every day, helping people discover trusted information around mental health, wellbeing, relationships, work, and personal growth.

Who is Happiful for?

Happiful is for anyone interested in supporting their mental health and wellbeing. Whether you’re navigating a challenge, looking to learn something new, or simply enjoy thoughtful journalism that puts people first, our magazine is designed to meet you wherever you are.

Many therapists, coaches, wellbeing professionals, schools, workplaces, and community organisations also use Happiful as a trusted resource.

What subscription options are available?

We offer a wonderful range of subscription types. From our monthly subscription to our three, six and 12-month subscriptions, pick which one is right for you. Find out more about our subscription types.

Can I buy a single copy of Happiful?

You certainly can! If you’d prefer to purchase a one-off copy to try before subscribing with us, you can find our range of back copies here.

I live in Northern Ireland, why can’t I buy a copy from your shop?

Sadly, we are not able to process orders for NI directly through our shop at this moment in time. If you live in NI and wish to buy a subscription or single copy, you can do this through our fulfilment company (Newsstand) on our website here.

Can I purchase a subscription outside of the UK?

Absolutely! International orders can be placed through our Happiful shop. While orders to EU countries can be made through our fulfilment company here).

When will my first copy arrive?

For UK orders, please allow 1-2 working days for processing and up to 7 working days for delivery. For orders outside of the UK, please allow up to 15 working days after processing time.

What can I do with my magazine once I’ve finished reading it?

At Happiful, we’re committed to making health and wellbeing knowledge accessible for everyone. Therefore, we encourage you to pass your magazine issue onto your friends and family that you think could benefit from reading it.

How can I cancel my subscription?

While we don’t like goodbyes, should you wish to cancel your subscription, this is easy to do in your account, which can be accessed here. To make sure you are not charged again, you will need to do this prior to your renewal date.

I’ve cancelled my subscription through my account but I continue to receive magazine issues. Why?

You will still receive the remaining issues tied with your subscription length which you have already paid for. By cancelling, it means it will no longer automatically renew once your subscription length has expired.

I forgot to cancel my subscription before the renewal date, am I entitled to a refund?

If you have forgotten to cancel your subscription prior to its renewal and you have emailed us to cancel within 14 days of the renewal, you will be entitled to a pro-rata refund.

How do I change my address?

If you have moved to a new address, please email our team at [email protected] and they will be able to help. If you are requesting a change of address after your subscription renewal date, your change of address will be effective from the next magazine issue.

Where can I leave a review if I’ve enjoyed reading the magazine?

Independent magazines like ours thrive on word of mouth and community, so, if you have a spare couple of minutes to share your support by leaving us a review on Google, it would really mean the world to us.

Can I buy Happiful for my workplace?

Yes. Many organisations provide Happiful to support employee wellbeing, whether that’s in offices, breakout spaces, staff rooms or as part of a wider wellbeing programme.

Can I order Happiful for a waiting room or reception area?

Absolutely. Happiful is enjoyed in counselling practices, GP surgeries, healthcare settings, wellbeing centres, charities, libraries, and community spaces across the UK.

Can schools subscribe to Happiful?

Yes. Happiful is read in schools, colleges, and universities, helping support conversations around mental health and emotional wellbeing.

Can I stock Happiful in my shop or business?

We’re always happy to hear from businesses interested in stocking Happiful. Whether you run an independent bookshop, gift shop, café, wellbeing space or another retail business, we’d love to discuss how we can work together.

Digital subscription

I subscribed to the digital subscription, is it definitely free?

Yes! The digital subscription is completely free and you will not be charged. We do not take any payment details from you, just your email address so we can send you a digital copy of the magazine each month.

When will I receive the e-magazine?

It will be sent to your inbox on the 3rd Friday of every month.

I’ve subscribed to the digital subscription, but I’m not receiving emails.

When you first subscribe with us, we will send you a confirmation email asking you to confirm your email address. Please remember to click the link.

If you have confirmed but still aren't receiving emails, check your spam folder. If you find your emails here, check the box that says 'mark as not spam' to make sure they go into your inbox in the future.

How do I unsubscribe?

Click on the link at bottom of your newsletter emails which reads ‘Unsubscribe preferences’. This will allow you to choose which emails you wish to receive and which ones you don’t wish to receive.



Contributing

I want to write for the magazine. How do I go about this?

The first step is to read the contributor’s guidelines, these guidelines will help you craft an effective pitch and have details of how to contact us. To give yourself the best chance of being featured in Happiful magazine, or online, make sure that you have read previous issues, understand our voice, and the type of content that we publish.

Do you pay contributors?**

We pay freelance writers for work published in Happiful magazine.

I've sent Happiful a pitch but haven't heard back.

We are grateful for every pitch we are sent. However, due to the vast number we receive each week, our small team aren’t always able to respond back to everyone, and prioritise replying to successful pitches. We endeavour to come back to you within two weeks, so if you haven’t heard from us after this time, please feel free to pursue placing your pitch with another publication.

I work for an amazing organisation, will you write about us?
