Zac Efron Adopts Dog, Saving A Little Life

Hollywood star Zac Efron introduced the world to MACA, a gorgeous dog who without his adoption, was due to be put down

If there’s one thing we love here at Happiful HQ, it’s dogs. And last week, things got even better when Zac Efron, known for The Greatest Showman and High School Musical, became a dog-father.

After introducing followers to MACA on Instagram with an adorable photo (which at the time of writing, has already received more than two million likes) her story was revealed.

Hey planet 🌎, this is MACA. #adoptdontshop

Not only did Zac adopt an unwanted dog (we’re big advocates of the ‘adopt, don’t shop’ motto) but MACA, formerly known as Tilly, was scheduled to be put down. Thankfully, this is no longer the case.

Her story was revealed as Los Angeles based humane pet shop Bark ‘n’ Bitches Dog Boutique shared Zac’s post. In the post they wrote, “Tilly, now MACA, was being let to the kill room when we stepped in and said we would take her.”

“She was turned around and brought to us! This guy named Zac Efron came in (we hear he is an actor but we think he actually waits tables) came in and fell in love. He went through our application process and fostered MACA and just could not give her back.”

We don’t know about you, but we’ll be following Zac and MACA’s journey from now on…

If you’re thinking about welcoming a furry addition to your own family, there are plenty of places in the UK you can adopt from. The Dogs Trust and RSPCA have some great resources, or you can search your local area for dog and other animal homes.
