Lauren Mahon and Deborah James Join Podfest For Mental Health

Friends and co-hosts of You, Me and the Big C will kick off Podfest For Mental Health as guests on Happiful’s podcast I am. I have

You, Me and the Big C co-hosts Lauren Mahon and Deborah James will be the guests for the first ever live recording of I am. I have as part of Podfest for Mental Health on Saturday 30 March, (10.30 - 11.30am) at King’s Place in London’s Kings Cross.

Tickets are now available for this podcast recording, as well as day tickets for the whole event.

Lauren Mahon

After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016, Lauren started #GirlvsCancer. Her aim was to share the story of her treatment in an accessible way in an attempt to tackle the taboo and create a better understanding of the challenges those diagnosed with cancer in their twenties and thirties face.

Lauren is the mastermind behind Tit-Tees, ranges of stylish, funny and fierce t-shirts with 25% of all profits split equally between CoppaFeel!, Trekstock, Future Dreams and Look Good Feel Better.

Lauren (@iamlaurenmahon) regularly collaborates with brilliant brands and forward-looking charities.

Deborah’s real, fearless and unflinching book F@!K You Cancer, was published last year and became an immediate hit, providing support and lived experience for those in the cancer club (‘the club you never wanted to be a part of’) and others. She writes a regular column for The Sun, charting her day to day life, reflections and treatment for Stage 4 Cancer and has recently been nominated for Columnist of the Year at the British Press Awards. There’s also a campaign to get her on Strictly Come Dancing, #BowelBabeForStrictly! You can follow Deborah @bowelbabe on Instagram.

You, Me and The Big C

Lauren and Deborah are co-hosts of BBC Radio 5 Live’s You, Me and The Big C, which takes a candid look at cancer. The pod was initiated by broadcaster Rachael Bland in early 2018, bringing together the three women and their shared, but different, experiences of cancer - creating an unstoppable friendship at the same time. Their discussions ranged from dating and intimacy to chemo, palliative care and loss and have prompted laughter, tears and a lot of grateful listeners.

You Me and The Big C reached number one in the iTunes chart shortly before Rachael died in September 2018.
